We are encouraged to take up our Testimony on the Authority & Dominion as Believer that comes only through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit… as He breathes on us!
Therefore, called to hold fast to the testimony that we have, and the hope that we are holding in Christ; Who is the author & finisher of our faith.
Heb 3:1-6 …Christ as a Son over His own house; whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
God Has Given Us Authority Over All Things Created
God’s original design and intention with man was to have authority and dominion in the earth. God has given us both.
- When God made us in His image and after His likeness He gave us His dominion! That includes His full ‘backing’ to execute this authority & dominion in literally every area of life!
Gen 1:26
(26) Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have DOMINION OVER the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Gen 1:28-30
(28) … “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; …
(29) … given you every herb that yields seed…, every tree whose fruit yields seed…
(30) … every beast…, every bird…, everything that creeps…, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food…”; and it was so.
This affects every area of every human being on the planet.
To add to this, the Scripture also says that Jesus gave his disciples authority over all devils and to cure diseases.
Luk 9:1-2
(1) …gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
(2) He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Jesus Also Gave His Disciples The Commission To Spread The Good news Gospel; The Message of Salvation & The Forgiveness of Sins THROUGH the empowerment of the HOLY Spirit
Joh 20:19-23 – After His Resurrection
(21) So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
(22) And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.
(23) If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
What Negates Our Authority As Believers?
One of the things that negates our testimony of faith & our authority as Believer, is when we still seek the honor of man here on earth and not SEEK His honor that comes from above.
Joh 5:44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?
Joh 7:16-18
(16) Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
(17) If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.
(18) He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.
PRAYER:
Father,
We stand amaze and in awe of You, to realize how much authority & dominion You have entrusted to us.
Please remove as we repent, our carnal timidity and unbelieve in the face of this commissioning. As we tend to – still – think the mission must be done by me (us), in our human capacity.
After Your resurrection; You revealed Yourself to Your disciples, showing them Your hands. This gave them hope to believe in You with all faith & trust in Truth. You then breathed on them & imparted Your Spirit to be empowered. For without Your Holy Spirit no-one can do anything!
Thank you, Lord,
that You again encourage us today, to thoroughly grasp You have graced us with everything pertaining to life, dominion, taking up our mission; to execute through Your Holy Spirit.
We ask forgiveness for any time we have sought the honor of man more… than the honor that comes from You, as we just continue faithfully for Your glory & honour.
We love You Lord, with all of our heart.
Thank You, that we can have boldness in the strength of Your greatness in & through us.
